ClimTrio brings together leading research in the social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and medicine at Stockholm University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Karolinska Institutet.

Karin Bäckstrand, Professor of Environmental Social Science at Stockholm University and project lead for ClimTrio, highlights that one of the main strengths of the proposal is its ability to strengthen a holistic perspective on the climate transition.

“A key strength is the interdisciplinary integration across three strong research environments within the University Alliance Stockholm Trio. We connect advanced climate and systems modelling with analyses of governance, justice, legitimacy and health impacts. The aim is to contribute knowledge and evidence that can support the transition to a net-zero society.”
